●Personality:

He's a very quiet type of person when in a crowd, but he's actually very shy and keeps to himself. Except when he talks to his precious stuffed bear, Kuma or talks to animals. That's the only time he speaks his mind. He's very helpful when he's willing to, and reliable too-- but only when he has the will to help. Joong Hyoon has a mind set that without responsible people, the world would be in ruins, so he tries to be responsible when it comes to orders or requests from people.

Once he feels close to a certain person, he still stays distant, but would once in a while ask them to come near if they want to talk or hang out. He protects and cares for his friends very much, but not to an obsessive extent.

●History:

Hyujin ( My other nickname for him ) was born an only child to a widow, who lost her husband to a disease while she was having Hyujin in her stomach. When Hyujin was little, he would watch his mother sell garments and accessories. His mother's favorite clothes to wear were things with hoods. He grew up until the age of 4 with his mother, being told my his mother that when he's older, until he lost her to a group of bandits who trashed their home and stole their belongings. His mother protected him by hiding him with her jacket and made him stay under the table. After the incident, all he had left was his beloved bear Kuma, and a corpse of a mother.

His mother's neighbor was an innkeeper and felt sympathy for the boy and took him i as his own son. He grew up, hiding himself in his room, and would time to time, help his stepfather with the inn. His stepfather noticed when he was about the age of 10 that he'd only talk to his stuffed bear and the pets in his inn, so he tried making him socialize with other children.

The first time he tried to talk to other children, the children gladly accepted him into the group, and he was really happy. He was still shy, but the other kids still let him play with them. He was starting to actually become sociable, but a group of bullies, one day, picked on him and ripped his Kuma's arms and legs. This made him angry and fight the group. He was actually good at first, but since he was outnumbered, he came house with bruises and his torn up bear. This made him want to never leave his room.

At the age of 8, he had an accident that really didn't want to talk to them even more. He tried again, to befriend them, but the bullies found him playing with the other kids again, and decided to pull a harsh trick on him. They hurt him again and tied his hands behind his back, tossing him into the ocean. He nearly drowned, but thankfully a fisherman was there to rescue him.

At the age of 14, he would look out the window of his room, seeing all the kids he played with, still hanging out with each other outside-- and the bullies became bigger. The years he stayed inside the inn, all he did was continue helping his stepfather, and self-taught himself basic self-defense. He learned it that if he ever had to go outside of the inn to buy supplies, he could protect himself from the bullies that he was afraid of.

At the age of 15, he heard finally opened his attention to what was happening outside. The kids he used to play with were talking about joining a group of individuals who were in an island not so far from where they were. They kept going on about how only strong and brave people coud go there. Watching them, he asked them if people like them could go, but the kids, and even the bullies told him he's too weak to do anything. This made him feel insulted and he challenged them that he could go. They made an agreement that if he backed out, he'd have to be their slave-- and if that he did go, they'd stop being judgemental on others.

At the age of 16, he was supposed to leave already, and prove to his friends that he could do it, but his stepfather didn't want him to go. So, for a whole year, he had to stay home once more, and converse to his dad about what he wanted to do. His stepfather finally gave in, but he made a condition that he leaves when he is 17. So for a year, he had to be a slave to the bullies. A year later, he finally got his chance to ride the boat away from his town, to the island.
